Train sets!

1mtvfan wrote:newest plan is to raise the reverse loop bench work a few inches to allow more clearance for the double stacks to pass underneath, as the helix ramp is not coming down as fast as liked.

Spoiler:

most recent progress of the helix ramp, will get a more updated photo of it tonight

1mtvfan wrote:helix bench work is complete, adding track bed and track now, but may have to re lay it because of rough and high spots. pictures follow.

Spoiler:

old [spoiler] showing the helix near completion

Spoiler:

helix showing bench work complete, and in the process of receiving track bed and tracks.
Flat track alongside is for the lower reverse loop

Train sets!

1mtvfan wrote:lower reverse loop is complete and powered up, but still have to iron out the bugs, still have to complete the upper loop and helix bench work, and add the track bed and rails, power is already wired in so that step is looked after already

1mtvfan wrote:just have to complete the upper loop and helix, but adding some more yard spurs to the lower area.

Train sets!

1mtvfan wrote:getting off topic a bit, but no matter

1mtvfan wrote:Update

Helix is progressing, end ramp is in place, but not secured yet, as the incline/decline may have to be moved back to allow a stack train to clear the bench work for the upper reverse loop when the track bed and track are installed, will test this tonight when i am on site.

1mtvfan wrote:further update

double stacks will just barely clear with track bed and tracks installed, but instead of moving the incline/decline ramp, the upper bench work for the upper reverse loop, in the area above the helix ramp, will be raise slightly to accommodate the height of the double stacked containers

Train sets!

1mtvfan wrote:well it's been with us since our dad had it back when he was a kid, and it was going to burn out at some point, that sort of thing can only handle so much for so long, and it was 50 years old when it  was installed 3 years ago, so once it goes, all that can be done is replace it.

1mtvfan wrote:update, electrical issues continue, but the new controller and selector boxes are in place. the controller box however is only there because it is not compatible with the one that burned out. so that is now ruled out, all that is left to do is to rewire the power area from scratch with new wires and it is hoped that this will solve the problem, and get the construction of part 2 phase 3 back on the priorities list.

1mtvfan wrote:electrical issues are resolved, building part 2 of phase 3 is back on the top of the priorities list, followed by drop bridge No 3, it would be a lot better if TTfan came by the LVCRR, but things are what they are at this point, and it cannot nor will it be forced on him, also, my Tablet sadly will not fit under the upper phase 2 bench work standing up, and will not pass by the supports when turned sideways without snagging, so there is nothing i can do about that right now, but i will keep trying to see what works best, but since there isn't much to see on that part of the layout i don't think it needs to be seen anyway. still more, a new [Only mods are allowed to see this link] follows

Spoiler:

former CP Rail bay window caboose no. 437265 sits on the freight station storage spur while a freight train rumbles past

1mtvfan wrote:even though i'm leaving on an LOA today, here's the newest [Only mods are allowed to see this link] from the LVCRR

Spoiler:

Former CP rail Wide vision caboose No. 434716 taking a turn on the freight station storage spur

Spoiler:

new Selector and controller boxes in place and Wired up

Spoiler:

Old controller and Selector boxes

Spoiler:

part 2 of phase 3 with new rails added from the drop bridge back

Spoiler:

newest cold container stacked for running on the stack train.

Track laying continues for the parts that have roadbed in place, and more bench work to complete
as well as adding more to the helix and upper reverse loop, building the 3rd drop bridge, roadbed and track laying and then the electrical to complete as well, but things are progressing.

Thanks for sharing these [Only mods are allowed to see this link] of your [Only mods are allowed to see this link] . Glad to see the electrical issues have been fixed and your train set is running once more.

You were able to upload pictures using the on site uploader without any issuee? I only ask because there is apparently supposed to be some techinial issue with serverside that is supposed to make it impossible to upload images via the on site editor. It seems, however, that maybe the issues are not effectng BD?

Anyway, enjoy your vacation from BD 1mtvfan and we will see you in 2 weeks. Smile Don't worry, the rest of us staff will hold down the fort while your away. Wink
