Should The FCC Shut Down Pirate Radio Stations?

First topic message reminder :

I dislike the fact that the FCC shuts down Pirate Radio Stations. Even though it is illegal its not like they're doing anything bad. Correct?

I believe most of the 'independent' are 1 man shows (much like BGRN) and the owner(s) have regular steadg jobs which provide the stations funding .

sounds about right in my book as well, but the FCC can be (and usually is) very anal about the broadcaster having their legal paper trail in order.

give credit where credit is due, and say you are playing the music for entertainment only and there's no issue

Both of those statements are very true .

the FCC does have a lot of power regarding this, and will issue a BIG fine or call for your arrest if you do not follow what orders they give. so by saying you own nothing, give credit where it is due, and say also that the songs played are for entertainment only, there will be no issue should the FCC ever find out

Well if you arent making any sort of profit off of it, they will not bother you. More important things to do.

giving credit where credit is due will normally absolve the caster of any legal liability, and the FCC should leave them alone, that's all i am saying

i will add to this the FCC can not regulate Internet radio or even what we do for that matter it's out of there hands basically.
