Train sets!

the 2nd level is mostly complete, all we have to do is tie in the reverse loop and helix and build the freight yard, after the desk and other junk is removed to clear the space

Tie them in?

once the reverse loop and helix are built, they will be tied in to the electrics, as will the freight yard, but the hardest part will be the reverse loop, as it will be have to wired backwards

Really? I would have thought the Helix would be hardest to do, such a lot of curving and stuff to do!

well, it will have be a wait and see thing, but as the helix is only going to be one loop down, it's doubtful it will be too hard to do, if it were a double or triple helix, it may be harder. and Updating everyone on the desk, the desk will now be staying put as part of the supports for the freight yard, the hutch on the top of the desk is still scheduled to be removed though

only because it is a great storage space, and saves us on lumber to build legs to support the yard modules. and because a solid desk like that will never be found again in this day and age

and very well numbered, every big boy type was numbered in the 4000 series

just means the builders of that model big boy type knew what they were doing when they numbered it

What do the numbers mean?

it is how a locomotive is identified on the railroad rosters

Is 4000 a good number to be in then?

well, it is just how the UP numbered that type of locomotive

that's the class of locomotive, and it was given to them by the Union Pacific Railroad (which was the only railroad to use them).

each locomotive has a different class, and each class has a different number, and that's how locomotives are numbered
