Re: Train sets!
newest plan is to raise the reverse loop bench work a few inches to allow more clearance for the double stacks to pass underneath, as the helix ramp is not coming down as fast as liked.
[Only mods are allowed to see this link]
most recent progress of the helix ramp, will get a more updated photo of it tonight

Re: Train sets!
helix bench work is complete, adding track bed and track now, but may have to re lay it because of rough and high spots. pictures follow.

Cool!
Re: Train sets!
now just have to wire up the helix for some electrical power and test it, as well as raise the upper loop bench work to allow the clearance for double stacks

Re: Train sets!
If anyone wants to know, I always try to keep track of the freight cars that 1mtvfan and myself currently own and the renumbering of this new hopper has given me a bit of a headache. Things are all sorted out now though.

[Only mods are allowed to see this link]
Fully completed Helix, the white line on the back and outside edge is a "fence" to keep equipment from falling off and breaking.
[Only mods are allowed to see this link]
fully completed yard for phase 3 , showing the yet to be completed upper reverse loop, which is going
to be raised up 1/4 inch to allow the double stacks to clear the bottom of the bench work.
yard is only a quarter full, as both TTFan and i have much more equipment than can fit in the
yard at any one time. And the oblong bits at the ends of some tracks are chunks of wood serving for
temporary bumpers until some proper ones can be added, but some wheel stops may be used in place of standard bumpers.
also planning another spur off of the loop for the big boy locomotive to rest on instead of its current location.

Re: Train sets!
Another project "in the works" at present is a 3rd drop bridge, but I for one am confident that such will be a relatively easy project to complete as the other two turned out quite well.

yes, that's the next project after the upper reverse loop is raised, and then given track bed and tracks
