Train sets!
First topic message reminder :
i am also still looking for some more cylindrical grain hoppers, and also anything of interest in the way of model buildings and track-side scenery, so feel free to offer some up if you have any laying about or know how to come about them

Re: Train sets!
hey all,
No progress on the setup's deconstruction as yet, but the process of my family members claiming the physical craft project and collectible trinkets that myself & 1mtvfan's recently departed grandmother has begun. There is a LOT of stuff to sort through, so it may be a while yet before the LCVRR is officially deconstructed.

Re: Train sets!
Update, 2-10-2 locomotive is now packed away.
Only the big boy locomotive is left on the layout now. So sad to see the liptonville story have
to end this way. Rip Liptonville

Re: Train sets!
With 1mtvfan's help (which continues to be a surprise for me), I have started to pack up my own equipment and move it off the setup (so far its just one locomotive, both of the ex-Via Rail passenger cars and a number of assorted freight equipment). I still have quite a bit of equipment to pack up and move, but it needs to be done.

not really a surprise, i knew the equipment has to be moved before the dismantling can begin so it's better to have more than one pair of hands at a task to get it done

update, one more bag load of @TigerTankfan's train equipment is home, but still a good 2 or 4 more to go, exhausting work to cart it all home, but this must be done

Re: Train sets!
With my brother's help, I have brought a few more examples of equipment home from the setup. It will take a while before all of it is home though, as I have a lot of items.

prob not much longer now, as we've been taking the "bag brigade" approach to the issue

Re: Train sets!
Got another 2 bags full of stuff home today (10/9/2017). I now have both of the 89' scale feet cars home, but there still is a few more things to collect.

Re: Train sets!
update, all locos are now off the layout, they are boxed up and have been brought back home, all that is left is to collect @TigerTankFan's remaining items of equipment and wait for the dismantling to begin, which is going to be heartbreaking, RIP liptonville

Re: Train sets!
As 1mtvfan mentioned, there are no trains on the setup anymore but some buildings as well as the trackwork remain in place. The buildings are the next thing to be removed, followed by the tracks then the roadbed. The setup has some legal issues to sort out before the dismantling work can begin however. I also have to say that my 5-unit spine car was damaged in the process of being packed up, so I'm not too sure when (or if) it will be returning to service.

Re: Train sets!
Unfortunately employment obligations are continuing to keep the father of myself and 1mtvfan from starting the deconstruction of the LCVR, but such cannot be helped at this time. I'm not entirely sure if this is true or not but these obligations will be completed at the end of this month and such will allow the
deconstruction to start.
deconstruction to start.

Re: Train sets!
Bit of an update here all,
As of 18:00 hours on 10/21/2017, the setup remains standing (as far as I know). I'll admit that such is partly my fault though, as I haven't bothered to mention the issue to my parents. Such may happen soon, but I have medical and relationship obligations to maintain as well.

Re: Train sets!
As I said in an earlier post, the father of myself and 1mtvfan will be done with his seasonal work on the end of this month and will have the time needed to dismantle the LCVR. I have to admit that I'm quite saddened by this but there's no other choice as our uncle is planning to sell his parents place in the spring of 2018.

Re: Train sets!
update,
liptonville dismantling will begin as soon as the father of myself and @TigerTankFan is off work for the winter, and that should be in another week or so, but it is heartbreaking to see it go, because i am uncertain if I will have the heart to operate on the new layout given the restrictions placed on it as well as the restrictions that will carry over from liptonville. RIP liptonville

Re: Train sets!
I could be wrong about this but it would seem that deconstructing the LCVRR is going to be a winter project. I also have no idea if 1mtvfan has been expressing his obligations on here or not but such is beyond my control and therefore isn't worth worrying about.
