First topic message reminder :

If anyone is wondering, Windows 8 was originally intended for mobile devices but Microsoft had to develop the 8.1 patch because many people still use a desktop computer rather than a mobile device. Unfortunately there's going to be a time when support for win7 (which is what I'm using at present) will end, but I'm hoping that this doesn't happen anytime soon.

That is very true Arthur. It is good to keep the hackers out. But there isn't very many changes on the new update for Windows 10. I didn't see too many changes just minor changes. Just took forever to install all over them

the only time i get updates is either patch Tuesday's and or if microsoft releases a patch for something that's about it and there is suppose to be a major windows update next month to a new version of windows 10 Version 2004 may update

Hopefully that new update won't take so long. My laptop was going so slow i had to everything on my phone till it got back to normal again. But I will have it installing when I am sleeping since I can't stay up and see how long it takes to install the new update

the big feature updates do take longer cuz it's like a fresh install of windows at the same time it's installing it's actually moving all your files from the old install onto the new one that's why it can take along time if you don't have an SSD in your computer mine takes about 20 to 30 minutes depending if i have alot of stuff on my drive or not so time does very for feature updates

I do kind of wish they would let you skip feature updates, as I don't really care for any of the new stuff they add.

Well it seems the last update wasn't much changes at all. It mostly the same apart from some new changes. Just takes forever to install the update which is a pain in the butt. But it does happen it can do it when I am listening which is some time in the early morning like 2 AM or 3 AM

Yeah a lot of their updates are just security updates.

well the update's some are bug fixes the ones on patch Tuesday's are security updates but bug fixes can happen at any time.

I am guessing that was the last update I got which was probably most security updates since not much changes on Windows 10

mostly all updates are security and Bug fixes Feature updates are the only ones that changes Windows but not by much there might be only some new features that get's added over time most people might not notice them right away since it's not that big of an improvement in windows 10.

My PC updated yesterday .

My PC get updated with this new update. It must have been bug fixes and security update. But there was this one update that messed up Intel RST Service and made it not running any more. I was hoping there would be a new update to fix it yet but still nothing yet. Not sure if that was Mircosoft update or something else. It was a big pain in the butt when it messes up something on my laptop. That is my thoughts

i'm on AMD so i have not really had any issues with updates it has been stable for me

I also received a Win10 update not too long ago. It seems to be stable for me but such could change at any time.

It seems to be fine now. Not sure if it was a Mircosoft update or something else. Just needed a restart then it stopped working. The other update I had didn't take long just restarted the laptop and it was fine after that

it's not uncommon for Microsoft to break something even in the windows 7 days the same issues happened there be something that would break windows 10 is no different from windows 7 they all share the same issues with updating ect i would almost say that no version of windows is perfect by any means you just hope an update won't break something

That is very true Aaron. I must have had the same problem with the last update. This one thing isn't running for some reason but everything else works fine. Not sure what was going but it still working for me which is a good thing

As of 11/27/2020, I have been using Windows 10 for almost 5 years and there has been no major issues. I've received several updates and while its a little annoying when my PC takes a little longer to shut down because of them, such is something that I've learned to live with.

I have been on Windows 10 for a long time now. I have had no issues apart from my hard drive crashing but that has to do with my laptop and not Windows 10. I haven't had any issues apart from a update messing up my laptop. I am thankful for the guy at Staples who fixed everything and also got all of the music files and pictures back on it. There is updates every month but it seems they are fine and no problems at all

I have received a security update for Win10 recently and there has been no major issues with it.. yet.

No issues for me either.

I got too many updates for Windows 10. But it seems there has been no issues at all for me at all it has been going all good so far till the next update

there will be a big update this fall that's going to be changing alot of things including the folder icons in file explore and also the Taskbar will also be getting it's own process now and will not be connected to file Explore like it is now so lot's of changes coming to 21H2 this fall 21H1 will be how windows is now but the big change will come this fall with a New UI redesign for the second half of 2021

Oh that is very cool. That could take a while to get used to the new design since I am used to how it is right now. Most of the new features they add on Windows 10 I don't even use at all. I am sure it would be good for people who use computers a lot. The most of the recent features from the last update I haven't even used at all

yep tho everyone i think are going to use the things that are visible there has been features added and removed in windows 10 all the time for the past 5 years or so i lose count to half of them LOL
