Do you use Facebook?

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to start  a  topic to see if there is anyone here on BD that uses Facebook and if so, what do you use it for? Do you use it just to chat with friends or distant family? Do you use it as day to day timeline of your life (yes, some people do this for some reason), do you use it to share photos and videos, do you use it to view pages or groups, maybe you use it to promote a bussiness or bussinesses?


I know that a couple users on BD that I know on a more personal level have a Facebook and use it regularly/daily while others have an account, but rarely ever go on it.


I also seem to always hear people say they don't use Facebook anymore, but they use Twitter and Instagram. Then if you try and bring up Facebook in a conversation, they say 'FACEBOOK! WHO USES FACEBOOK ANYMORE?' and I always roll my eyes because I mean its not like Myspace that died down awhile ago.

now me i can't change back to the classic facebook they removed that option for me now i guess it only does that if you fully switched and some people can't change back now even if they wanted too.

All I can say is that technology marches on and evolves regardless of how people feel about it.

I am still on the classic version. Don't know to switch to the new version. I am sure it will happen at some point. I will have to get used it at some point too

normally its in your settings drop down for you to switch it will say try the new facebook at the very bottom of the settings drop down menu.

By sheer accident I discovered a way to get back into classic Facebook for the time being. Call it getting lucky cause I don't know if the way I did it was supposed to be there lol.

I don't see nothing in my drop down menu saying anything about a new version. I must be on the classic version. I do some times see a Happening Now that does show up and then disappears. The Facebook app on my phone does look a little bit different. But other than that it looks the same to me. I am guessing I am still on the classic version. It hasn't said anything about switching to the new version yet

i think it's a slow roll out to people i think by the next time your browser updates or cache is cleared i think that's when your on the new version there Josh mine changed when i updated the browser before i could switch back in the dropdown of settings but not anymore i can how ever switch back for 48 hours from the group pages only but who knows how long that's going to last that part of it might be going away soon as well.

Still using my little work around to use classic version. Don't know how much longer FB will let me get away with it tho

Yes I will have to see that happens but my browser is up to date but and I do clear the caches every time. The Facebook app and Messenger do look different but that is the only thing I do see on my phone. It looks the like the classic version when I am on there. But who know it could change at some point

the Phone app should have already been on the new version already unless your phone is years out of date then it's time to upgrade then you should get the new version of the apps and apple does this a lot with there Phones so always make sure you have the latest app version on your phone as for the web just have to wait and see there josh normally when you update your browser it will remove Old Cache a lot of the time when it updates

I am still on the classic Facebook, I am thinking they extended it through to the end of October at least. There is a certain way you have to access it though, which is by going to a page you manage and click 'view classic manager' or something like that.

They did update the messenger in classic FB to match the new messenger update though.

i think the reason why they did that cuz i think they want people to move away from facebook classic tho i have not moved back to facebook classic since there now de bugging the new layout now.

It must have updated the app. It still looks the same in Google Chrome as I do have the latest version on there. It hasn't said anything about switching to a new version yet. Not even in the drop down logout menu. I am still enjoying classic now but I am sure the new version will be coming out at some point

Me too Josh, I will be using classic Facebook until they don't let me do so anymore.

Me too Josh, I will be using classic Facebook until they don't let me do so anymore.

i haven't switched back to the old facebook in a couple of months so i kind of forgot what it even looked like

It's blue Aaron, instead of all white or all black which is kinda bland if you ask me.

I am still on the classic one. Just a new thing I saw in the messenger that said it was available for Windows as a app. I thought that was interesting but I won't be downloading Messenger app for Windows at all. I do download it on my phone but I just delete it after. That is only because I don't like to be seeing lots of random messages on Messenger on my phone. I only do that at home when I have some time to look at the messages. I am still enjoying the classic Facebook

i use messenger on my Phone at times i also have on windows as an app as well it's really the same version you get Phone wise but a Desktop app

I usually it on my phone but then delete the app since I don't like it at all. Just install it and delete it on my phone when I do need to it. I don't have it on Windows at all since I usually just go onto the website and use messenger on there. I am still on classic Facebook as I haven't got anything yet about going to the new version yet. I am happy to stay on the classic version as long as I can

Well I have now been forced to use the new Facebook and am so far not a fan. It is kinda slow and laggy in my experience so far.

Such could be the result of your internet signal brandon. I honestly don't know for sure though as I am NOT an expert on internet signals.

Nope, my internet is super fast and my computer is also quite fast. Furthermore it is purely Facebook that appears to be having the problems.
