So I take it this happens to be on a main line?

even on the sidings and spur lines, leveling is always an issue

Re: Train sets!
Yeah but what I meant is that it would not be such drag if it were a line that is not always used, or only used once in a while.
Re: Train sets!
no matter what we do, we will always have to fight with the leveling due to the rise and fall of the cement floor

The drop-bridge will help with it though right?
Re: Train sets!
no, the drop bridge is only an access thing, leveling will always be an issue as things warm up and cool down

Well in theory since the drop bridge hangs from the table and goes from one side to the other but is not actually touching the ground it should help keep the trains from falling off the tracks if engineered slowly across it.
Re: Train sets!
the leveling will always be an issue as the cement floor is always rising and falling with the constantly changing temperatures.

Re: Train sets!
the drop bridge is only to allow access to the inner portion of the setup, i t will do little to nothing in the way of keeping things level and in-line. glad you find this thread interesting josh and i should say that an 89' flatcar in COFC service normally has container "shoes" installed to keep the containers locked down and in place on the flatcar. and if you all would like to see what i mean by "Container shoes" i will find some and take pics of them to show you all.

But no more trains will be wrecked once built though right?
Re: Train sets!
no trains were ever wrecked, they just come apart when the couplers ran over the uneven tracks, which is a very major pain, and the set up will never be truly level, because the floor underneath is constantly shifting with the ground as it rises and falls with the temperatures.

Well will this HELP prevent trains from coming apart in the future?
Re: Train sets!
probably not, as i said, the setup will never be completely level.

Re: Train sets!
It might but not very much as the ground will constantly shift with the time of year (falling when the air gets cold and rising when the air get warm).

So how will this help then?
Re: Train sets!
it will only help by allow much easier access to the inner sections of the set up.

That is what I said, the area this drop-bridge is being built in.
Re: Train sets!
the drop bridge is being built while still on the set up, but all we have to do is take out some screws and move some supports out of the way to allow the bridge to drop

So construction is underway?
Re: Train sets!
no, the drop bridge is on the back shelf, as clearing for phase 3 is the top project at this point

I am still foggy on what preciselly phase 3 consists of. May you create a list for us? Of each thing it entails.
Re: Train sets!
