Do you listen to AM Radio? If so what do you like about it, if why don't listen to it?

AM radio used to be quite decent but there's not all that many radio stations on this band. Also, EM interference from my computer is a factor in my decision to permanently switch to the FM dial.

It's mostly sports stations on the AM band now, not too many FM stations.

i don't really Listen to AM Radio much anymore it is a hit and miss out here nothing to interesting there use to be some music stations on AM before they took them off it is a hit and miss tho.

I imagine you guys must get some stations from California out there huh Aaron?

not really there all Arizona stations out here for the most part

Not too many AM stations out where I live. But my mom only listens to one AM station which is AM 1140. I don't listen to AM radio at all

Is that sports or Music? Most of the AM bands are Sports related here.

we use to have alot of AM stations but there slowly dying out due to HD Radio towers and the fact you can listen online now as well i think the AM radio Days are about gone here in the USA there are a couple left and i mean not many.

AM Stations are for sure on the decline, but there are still over 4000 of them in the USA.

According the FCC, as of September 2019, there are currently 4,601 licensed AM Stations in the USA. When you compare that to the combined total of 10,850‬ licensed FM Stations, I would say FM is definitely the clear winner.

Well it does some music and also some religious programs on there. It is a mixture of different things. Most of the sports stations are on FM. A lot more music stations on FM including 88.9 Shine FM that does play Christian Music which are Christian radio singles. My mom is the only way that listens to AM 1140. I don't listen to it at all since I don't listen to any AM stations at all. But I am thinking there isn't too much on AM anyways where I live. I hope that answers your question

most FM station's do have a Back up on AM while the station does not broadcast in Stereo and the signal is rather weak on the back up transmitter alot of stations on AM broadcast in Mono there use to be AM Stereo if you had a tuner to do it they no longer do it anymore.

I have started listening to the CBC on AM due to issues with the tuner on my radio.

Are you sure it's not stereo?

yep cuz they killed off AM stereo in the early 2000s out here.

Which is actually weird since the signal would probably get very far out there with the land being mostly flat and stuff.

Yes it is a mix of both Brandon. But I don't listen to AM stations at all. I only know since I have heard of these stations but never listened to them. I only listen to one FM station and that is only once a week. But I hope that answers your question Brandon

Yeah the AM band is definitely not as popular as it used to be!
