Is a strong social media presence important to the success of a station or live stream?

Hello fellow Duoers!

I am wondering what your thoughts are on how important having a strong and active social media presence is on having a radio station (online or otherwise), a live stream, etc?

I think most people would agree that having a social media presence is critical to the success of just about anything, a radio station, a business, a website and so on. I am curious though to see if you all agree with this or if you think there are other strategies to gain viewership using older methods? Also if you agree that a social media presence is important, what social media sites do you think are most important to be active on?

I try to have an active social media presence with Facebook pages, groups, Twitter and even Youtube.

Even though I am not a huge fan of social media personally, I know it is a big part of how people find things these days. Therefore I do think having a strong social media presence is good for any streamer, radio station or business.

yes i think it is good for live streams i use facebook for posting the links to my show i use my personal profile and my group page to post the links also using twitter works to as well to get the shows out there i also have a facebook page as well for the show but it hardly ever get's used.

Don't forget about Twitter. You use that too. .

Facebook is great too, it just had a bad day yesterday that's all .

The problem was caused by a server reconfiguration issue apparently.
