model railroading is supposed to mimic the real thing as much as possible, that's why the question

As I said before, it was common to see a road-going trailer and a shipping container on a flatcar in the early days of intermodal transport but its not very common now (due to a railroad having to pay money for idle wheels).

all table tops are almost in place, still have to make the drop bridge, and the helix and the like
