Do you use Facebook?

First topic message reminder :

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to start  a  topic to see if there is anyone here on BD that uses Facebook and if so, what do you use it for? Do you use it just to chat with friends or distant family? Do you use it as day to day timeline of your life (yes, some people do this for some reason), do you use it to share photos and videos, do you use it to view pages or groups, maybe you use it to promote a bussiness or bussinesses?


I know that a couple users on BD that I know on a more personal level have a Facebook and use it regularly/daily while others have an account, but rarely ever go on it.


I also seem to always hear people say they don't use Facebook anymore, but they use Twitter and Instagram. Then if you try and bring up Facebook in a conversation, they say 'FACEBOOK! WHO USES FACEBOOK ANYMORE?' and I always roll my eyes because I mean its not like Myspace that died down awhile ago.

That is very true Arthur. It took me a while to get used to all of the latest changes on there including stories which I don't use at all. The last time I used stories was a long time ago. I know there is always changes on Facebook. I am sure it will be happening in April too

I have heard this too, and am not looking forward to it.

This new format will take some getting used to for some, but it won't be all that much different for those who use FB on their mobile devices.

i won't be looking forward to it either there going with the instagram look and that might not go over well with people.

I would say so, lots of stuff for sale on there.

The main problem I foresee with Facebook in the future is them trying to do TOO MANY things. They trying to do live streaming, videos, dating, craigslist/ebay, news site, they trying to do it all. When they should be focused on what they do best which is being a Social Media platform.

I agree, Facebook should NOT be doing all that it is nowadays. It should go back to its roots and become nothing more than a social media platform. I am in COMPLETE agreement with its "report abuse" procedures though.

i think i have to agree with both of you on this being that facebook don't really need to be all those things i go on facebook mainly to manage and post on the pages i'm on and message that's about it i also agree with art that face book should just stick with it's roots of being just one thing that's being a Social Media Platform only that's just my 2 cents on this

I did notice on the App for Facebook on my phone the whole menu looked different. I was just getting used to how it was before and it is all changed again. I am sure there will be more changes coming at some point. I also figured out to post a picture on my phone into a private group I am part of. That was very cool and I did like it. That is my thoughts

I remain neutral about Facebook's upcoming new look.

@BlackScorpion what do you think of the new look, since I hear you got it early.

 I like it, you know i'm partial to the dark mode  . It does getting some use to, but over all i 'm enjoying the new look. BTW , if you don't like the new look , you are allowed to switch back to the old version.

now me i don't have the new facebook yet and i likely won't see it until it's rolled out next month

I have received an offer to try the new Facebook but have decided to wait until its officially rolled out.

 Art , you should try it, i specifically like the dark mode. it seems much streamlined and quicker then the original.

That is good to know. Didnt think they would give u a way to switch back. I like dark modes in some places, and light mode in others. I like dark for my windows, BD (obviously), and Spotify and OBS and Discord. But I like Light mode for FB, Twitter and Youtube.

I also am gonna wait until they force it on me to make the change.

I didn't know there was a new look for Facebook. I didn't get any offer or anything about trying out the new Facebook. I am sure it will be coming out at some point. I am still on old version of Facebook. The app did look different. I am sure it will change again at some point and I will have to get used to it

i haven't got the new facebook yet i will more likely get it when it's forced on us

I did notice on the app when I posting something I watching it looks a bit different. But the rest of it looks the same on the app on my phone. I am sure there will be more changes. It is hard to keep up to all of the live streams going on there. I got so many to watch not sure which one to watch first. I am sure if people had a lot of time to watch live streams then they could do that. I am sure they are all good live streams. But the great thing you can watch them at any time. Not just when it is live. That is the one thing I love live streams. That is my thoughts

I have now gotten the invite to try out the new design and layout, but decided against trying it until they roll it out for everyone eventually.

i may never get an invite i'm like brandon i won't do it until it's fully rolled out and they might delay it due to all that is going on at the moment who knows

I haven't got a invite at all. I did see on the app for my phone it looked a little different. I did post two pictures and a status update it did say my name with all of it. I thought it was interesting. Not sure if that is part of the new design or not. Just something I did notice

i think the app and the desktop look about the same design wise
