Do you use Facebook?

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to start  a  topic to see if there is anyone here on BD that uses Facebook and if so, what do you use it for? Do you use it just to chat with friends or distant family? Do you use it as day to day timeline of your life (yes, some people do this for some reason), do you use it to share photos and videos, do you use it to view pages or groups, maybe you use it to promote a bussiness or bussinesses?


I know that a couple users on BD that I know on a more personal level have a Facebook and use it regularly/daily while others have an account, but rarely ever go on it.


I also seem to always hear people say they don't use Facebook anymore, but they use Twitter and Instagram. Then if you try and bring up Facebook in a conversation, they say 'FACEBOOK! WHO USES FACEBOOK ANYMORE?' and I always roll my eyes because I mean its not like Myspace that died down awhile ago.

Well the App looks a little different than looking at it at my laptop. But that is just what I see

they will look the same cuz the new layout is kind of built off the app but desktop wise.

I haven't seen much of a difference either, but I am not using the new version of Facebook... yet.

again some got invited to try it out i for one didn't get that invite and at this point don't really care much i will basically get it when it rolls out to the public.

I have the exact same course of action in regards to this particular matter Aaron.

It all looks the same to me. I haven't got the invite for the new layout or new version of Facebook. It all looks the same to me on the phone app or on my laptop. I am sure it will be coming at some point

right now if anything it might be delayed until this thing is all over so far they have not rolled it out to everyone yet so.

They did another update to the mobile app today, now the pages look weird in admin mode .

The app on my phone still looks the same. I was looking at it last night. Unless they have changed some more things when I look at it tonight. It looks the same for me on the laptop apart from the new buttons on a live stream was in today. But that is about it

i never noticed anything new on the mobile app i guess mainly being i don't use it much and the only time i do use the mobile app is if i'm just Laying in bed and i'm to lazy to go to the computer since we been on this stay at home order and the other percent of the time i use facebook on the the computer so i do use both but the web version even more cuz i'm at the computer a lot of the time so

The change mainly effects pages, more specifically in admin view, it used to look the same as the user view, with just the admin tools added on, now its all condensed and to me looks like crap in admin view.

ya i did see that it looks like crap there making there app alot harder to use these days.

Yeah, yet they want to model the new desktop site after it .

oh in the old version of the desktop site Groups is now missing you no longer have a manage Groups menu only shortcuts yay facebook is making things un usable now

I don't use the Facebook app too much either. Just a little bit to post pictures or status updates or even just check out videos from the pages I have liked. I haven't noticed the admin view in groups since the most of the groups I am in admin in are pretty much dead and nothing is going on them. I mostly check out my popular groups I am part of which is a good amount of them

the admin part in groups has changed abit from what i have noticed App wise and i still have not gotten bugged to use the new facebook yet and they where suppose to roll it out site wide this month so i'm one of the ones that have not got it yet but most of my facebook friends have so i wonder if there slowly rolling it out to everyone or what.

Such might be a possibility. It doesn't bother me though as I for one still like the current version of FB.

I haven't seen that yet. Most of the groups I am part of are mostly dead that I haven't checked out in a long time. The only thing I did notice that was a post a story on the phone app. The rest of it still looks the same. Not sure if is the same version or the new version. I am sure it will roll out at some point

I have seen a few new changes on Facebook. Mostly that live videos was added on there. I also know you could do a group chat in Messenger. Interesting updates on there. It still looks the same on the mobile app. Since I do use it and it looks the same to me. Just another update about Facebook that I thought I would share

i seen that too and i discussed it on my show on Wednesday when i noticed it

It is mostly a video chat with everyone in messenger. It seems a lot like a Skype call on Facebook in Messenger. Other than that just live videos was moved to a different section. I only noticed it on the laptop and on the app on my phone. I haven't used it yet but I am sure it is a way to connect with people through video calls

people have the option to use it if they very well chose i really don't see the point in creating a room if your only going to use it once it might be cool to use it for like discussing shows along those lines i think this maybe a hit and miss for facebook they should have added this a couple of years back that's just my opinion

There was a few minor changes on the mobile app but not too many changes. The website still looks the same apart from having trouble going into one page that I have Liked for a worship leader called Chris Tomlin. It never shows up but it shows up on the mobile. Not sure what is going on with that. All of the other pages I go to are fine. Hopefully it get working some time soon

i don't see much as far as the app goes as far as my notifications are always stuck at times when i have already looked at them i have to end up restarting the app i think it's a glitch that they need to fix for the most part.
