could also count as a range issue when the signal is not getting through

Not really a range issue if you are next to pc. You are clearly within range, however, something interfering with its ability to recieve the signals. Therefore it is an inteference issue.

range issues can happen at any time, even when the device is in range is my point

Well as said above, LG microphones and Logitechs often work good. I personally have not had the chance to try anything different.

i stick to the corded Logitech products, as i have had issues with the cordless ones
