Spoiler:

Newly added support for upper reverse loop and drop bridge no. 3

1mtvfan wrote:upper reverse loop has been mocked up, after height has been added to allow
double stacks to clear. but it has been discovered that the added height
means a very steep grade on the one side of the 3rd drop bridge, so the upper loop is
going to be entered from the long way around, also, the helix
fence does not allow my go pro camera case to clear going up,
but going down is perfectly fine for it,  i will also see what my tablet can do with it as well, so
either way, you will get to ride the helix up, and down with the trains. lastly, i am working on adding a number to one of my unnumbered flatcars that i just got working right.

1mtvfan wrote:update, upper reverse loop bench work is complete, and drop bridge no. 3 is in place, no pics of new drop bridge deck yet, but i will add the pics of the new upper loop bench work when i can for you all, my go pro camera case just scrapes the bottom of the upper loop bench work, but it is enough to impede the motion of it on the ramp of the helix, but i will be trying to come up with a way of showing it to to you all in a video, even if i means a static camera view. picture follows.

also working on another protective case for my go pro camera, one that will fit under the bench work of the upper reverse loop, as i don't want to damage the camera's lens. and also
very bummed i broke 4 of my draw-bars, and i know they're almost impossible to
find that kind of draw-bar now. and A draw bar is how i keep my container well cars, the long and low
ones, together, i was able to repair a pair of them with some model glue, but there's no telling how long the glue will hold, so i will have to look for new ones as close as i can get to the ones that broke, or make some workable ones

1mtvfan wrote:update, electrical issues continue, but the new controller and selector boxes are in place. the controller box however is only there because it is not compatible with the one that burned out. so that is now ruled out, all that is left to do is to rewire the power area from scratch with new wires and it is hoped that this will solve the problem, and get the construction of part 2 phase 3 back on the priorities list.

1mtvfan wrote:electrical issues are resolved, building part 2 of phase 3 is back on the top of the priorities list, followed by drop bridge No 3, it would be a lot better if TTfan came by the LVCRR, but things are what they are at this point, and it cannot nor will it be forced on him, also, my Tablet sadly will not fit under the upper phase 2 bench work standing up, and will not pass by the supports when turned sideways without snagging, so there is nothing i can do about that right now, but i will keep trying to see what works best, but since there isn't much to see on that part of the layout i don't think it needs to be seen anyway. still more, a new [Only mods are allowed to see this link] follows

You were able to upload pictures using the on site uploader without any issuee? I only ask because there is apparently supposed to be some techinial issue with serverside that is supposed to make it impossible to upload images via the on site editor. It seems, however, that maybe the issues are not effectng BD?

Anyway, enjoy your vacation from BD 1mtvfan and we will see you in 2 weeks. Smile Don't worry, the rest of us staff will hold down the fort while your away. Wink

1mtvfan wrote:construction has started again, so all other issues are either irrelevant or are just too petty and immature to be mentioned, but as of now, the inline for the upper loop and helix is in
place, but there is still more work to do. [Only mods are allowed to see this link] will show you the progress so far

what's left to do is the new drop bridge, and the line beyond that, as well as the helix and the reverse loop which will tie back into the upper line somehow, but that has yet to be worked out.

also, the next part of level 2, leading into the upper reverse loop and helix is being raised up a
1/4 inch or so for better clearances.

1mtvfan wrote:update, the reverse loops and helix on phase 3 are on hold yet again, which is proving very taxing

it out until construction starts up again, but now the question becomes
how to pass my time now that i am not running trains around

1mtvfan wrote:update, cradle for TT fan is complete, and it looks really good, now the plan for the wheel cradle is in motion, but the one snag is that the sprues do not fit through the center of the wheel rims so they will have to be laid flat on the rig, then secured to the rig in some way, either cradled in or tied down. Lastly, 7835 has suffered yet another breakdown, and this one may not be fixable by me, but i have 3 other locomotives that work fine so i am not worried much about it, but if i can, i willt ry and see about some repairs, if theya re possible, picture of new cradle follows tomorrow, or Wednesday at
the earliest.

1mtvfan wrote:no new pics of the pipe cradle i built for TTFan yet, but will try for tomorrow, but the rig for the Technic Lego wheels has been constructed, i just have to find a way to secure the remaining 2 wheels to the rig itself, will add a pic tomorrow also if i can. as well as some pics of the new loads i have just made and am in the process of making

Spoiler:

3 Lego Technic wheels on rims on the wheel rig built for them.

the sprues are from the Grain elevator kit and were just sitting around collecting dust, and the
pipes and wheels were giving me trouble for a long time, so i decided to try and rig something
together for them, and used those sprues to do it, i am happy they turned out as well as they have.

1mtvfan wrote:well, i still have to come up with something for those wheels, but that's for next week at some point,
but they will be secured flat instead of standing upright, unless they do not clear the tight clearances of the phase 2 area, so that will be tested next week also

1mtvfan wrote:it is as fixed as it is going to get, but i did buy another the other evening.
update, still working on the weathered Bulkhead load, as i was there today, but will keep trying
Further update: am getting closer on getting a load secured to the weathered bulkhead flat,
just need more time, and supplies, but i can get the supplies relatively easy, and apologize for not taking any new pics for you guys, i forgot to take my tablet with me when i went there earlier tonight.

TigerTankFan wrote:Some news from me here, one of my flatcars has the early stages of new tie-downs installed (since the railroad's board of directors felt a need to replace them). I hope to add a photo to prove this asap.

1mtvfan wrote:the owner of the flat car has yet to inspect and improve the new tie downs however
Update: the bulkhead load has still been giving me trouble, but i am continuing to work on a
solution, but i am thinking of making some sort of special cradle for it or coming up with a new type
of load for this bulkhead flat car. Further update: i will be trying something new, as i have an idea of
what i can do to help secure the load to the flat car.

Thanks Tigertankfan and 1mtvfan for those wonderful updates and [Only mods are allowed to see this link] on your [Only mods are allowed to see this link] , it looks to be making good [Only mods are allowed to see this link] and coming along great! Wink

tie down chains in the process of being tied down

Spoiler:

tie down chains in the completed state

update, tie down plan for bulkhead flat no 2 has suffered a minor setback, as part of the
flat car have broken because of too high a pressure load being placed on them, so a new
plan has to be devised to carry the wheels as the current ones on are secured,
but not secured enough to keep them from wobbling around a great deal too much

Thanks for sharing these nice new [Only mods are allowed to see this link] Wink.

TigerTankFan wrote:Unfortunately there's nothing new on my end, as I haven't visited the setup in a little while now plus I'm occupied with some other priorities at present.

1mtvfan wrote:further update, the wheels are coming off bulkhead no 2 and being set aside for now, bulkhead no 2 will now carry more pipes, this will remain for this bulkhead until i can find another place for the wheels or another flatcar for them. and by wheels i mean the wheels i was using for a load, not the wheels on which the flat car runs.

Thanks for the updates on your [Only mods are allowed to see this link] guys Very Happy. Hope all is fixed soon!
