at some point, yes, but not right away, if you mean about the 89 flat.

I'm okay when it comes to having an all-purpose flatcar, as I don't have enough model containers or trailers to use on this car.

Not used ones....

even used ones can be tough to find, but not as hard as find new ones

Why so hard?

just the fact there are so few of them.

as MTVfan has said, all purpose flatcars (and the very similar all-purpose spine car) are outdated technology now and have been mostly replaced by the all-purpose well car on the real railroads.

What is this all purpose 'well car' you all speak of?

I will see if I can find a picture to post on here, but its a type of rail car that can carry road-going trailers as well as shipping containers.

Wow that does offer a very indef description of it, as well as photos, I did see one photo where all purpose flat cars were being used alongside well cars.

it is a sign of the times unfortunately, Spine cars, and flat cars of the "all purpose" type can only carry one container, or one trailer, where as a Well car can carry two containers a piece, so that can mean much more cargo is moved in one train. But both are used together in many applications. also, more pics of the set up, and the phase 3 project are following these words

Yes it is unfortunate about the flat cars as well .

everything has a time in the spotlight, and then it is time for something else, and that's the way of the world, so there is little that can be done about it, again, apologies if the pics turned out blurry, i took them with my tablet from a distance

Ah... the pictures cam out great... trust me, I know how tablet cameras are 1st hand .

as technology advances, the current technology becomes obsolete, there is nothing one can do except try to adapt to the advances. i will try taking some closer more detailed pics tomorrow
