Train sets!
First topic message reminder :
i am also still looking for some more cylindrical grain hoppers, and also anything of interest in the way of model buildings and track-side scenery, so feel free to offer some up if you have any laying about or know how to come about them

Re: Train sets!
if our dad continues to "toke up" before starting the dismantling work, i will continue to sit out, and will do the same until you TTFan, make and effort to dismantle the layout

If you are wanting to continue participating in the deconstruction of the LCVRR, u need to make our father know that you want to do this as he doesn't know otherwise. Thanks for the updates guys.
Once the old one is down completely, how long before the new one is set up?
Re: Train sets!
well, once the layout is down completely, the task will be transporting the parts and pieces home to our house, and then the design of the new one can start, but the running idea is to build a fold up yard to try and save on space.

Fold up yard?
Re: Train sets!
yes, it will fold up against the wall, and fold down over the bed that cannot be removed, so that may work best for the space

Re: Train sets!
@1mtvfan I will see what I can do in regards of me assisting to get the setup dismantled but u and I both know that there is VERY little that we can do or say in response to our dad "toking up" as it were since that is what he wants to do and won't admit that its causing a problem.
I have to admit that the father of myself and 1mtvfan is not the only person with an addiction problem (as far as I'm concerned anyway), but I won't identify this person for the time being.
As for plans regarding the future setup, a fold-up yard is an interesting idea

the only one with an addiction is our dad, but that is irrelevant to this thread, and I remain committed to my sit out until the toking up before working stops

So you would have to take all train cars, engines and buildings down everytime your done using it?
Re: Train sets!
well, not if it is not folded up, but no buildings or train equipment would be permanently left on the fold up yard section

Re: Train sets!
Having a fold-up yard over the bed in the "Bedroom section" is definitely going to be an interesting experience, and I for one am cautiously optimistic about getting to experience it.

Re: Train sets!
While u may not like the idea of being cautiously optimistic 1mtvfan, that's all we can be as our dad has a number of priorities that come before the construction of a replacement for the LCVRR.

Re: Train sets!
While such is the case, you don''t have to keep mentioning it 1mtvfan. For the moment, the only kind of
model railroading we can do is through YT videos.
Latest update on the LCVRR here folks, it is now fully disassembled and its components are now waiting to be transported back to the house were myself and 1mtvfan reside with our dad.

liptonville is dead, so the name is no longer applicable to the layout

Yes the LCVRR is dead (as of 12/12/2017), but we now need to try and keep moving forward.

Re: Train sets!
Unfortunately there is no news in relation to the progress of the LCVR's replacement at this time, but such is because of the other priorities that the father of myself and 1mtvfan has to deal with (such as buying supplies and paying the bills that come with having modern day luxuries).

the name is no longer applicable to the layout, and there's been no replacement due to our dad dragging his feet again.

Re: Train sets!
1mtvfan, our dad is NOT dragging his feet on building a setup to replace the LCVR. Much to my frustration, I have to explain the situation to you again. Everyone needs to eat and, since you're not (or don't appear to be) willing to make the level of effort that's needed to go shopping for this necessity, he has to do it. In addition to this, he is the only one who can (or is willing to) pay the many bills that commonly come with having the luxuries that you use (such as the internet). In closing, I will also say that u are free to try and build a new model train setup for yourself and by yourself if you want but I'm sorry to say that I for one am VERY doubtful that you'll get very far.

Re: Train sets!
you can explain it all you want TTFan, but it will not do you any good, and if the BS rules about the length and weight of the trains come back up, i will put my equipment into storage and keep it there for as long as it takes to wait for the rules to be repealed

Re: Train sets!
1mtvfan, I honestly don't know why you want to let such a petty issue keep u from enjoying your model train collection but you can do this if u want. I for one am willing to wait for the LCVR's replacement to be built and can enjoy my own collection on it (well, the items that I can use anyway since I haven't been able to try and repair my damaged spine car yet due to lack of materials, space & time).

Liptonville is dead, so the name is no longer applicable, and i will do what i must, because those rules are archaic and unnecessary, i run long trains or i don't run at all

Re: Train sets!
Not too sure about this, but the plan seems to be as follows:
1.) Cleaning up the site of the now-dismantled LCVR is the top priority, but this will be completed after the holiday break is done.
2.) No word on designing the above setup's replacement as yet, but I for one am convinced that such is because of the upcoming holidays.
